I’ve heard so many times, “love yourself”. It scares me that I cannot remember what that means, or if I ever really even knew. I’ve just always picked my body apart in the mirror, I’ve always compared myself to each girl who walks into the room. I’m used to changing my outfit five times a day because everything I put on shows something about my body that I can’t stand. I’ve never been a large girl, but I always feel like the biggest one in the room. When did loving yourself become synonymous with “challenge”?
We are taught since tutus and Barbie dolls that skinny is beautiful. And it is, but I sure as hell am beautiful too. I will never teach my daughter that her body size will measure her worth, because I want her to believe she is a rose. Growing doesn’t have to be bad thing."
